except against ttocks by local warlords.
(c) another important factor is that Indian tro.ps have proved to. (?) unsuitable for internal security duties with Chinese and in the inevitable c.ntact with Chinese tro ps on the open frontier. Whilst it is therefore possible to retain an Indian Brigade during the time that the Garrison consists of two Brigides, it would no longer be possible to use Indian troups if the Garrison were reduced to one Brigade.
I recommend that the normal Pencc Time Garris.n should consist of one British Infantry Brigade and ɔne Field Regiment. I am uxamining in detail to what extent it would be possible to meet this requirement from within my own resources.
