Reference paragraph..2 of War Office Telegrambo..

MO 12 T.0.0. 071830 May. Following your decision that the future channel of commend and resp.nsibility for Army forces in Hong Kong will be War Office - C.-in-C. ALFSEA – G.O.C. Landformes Hong Kong, I have discussed the size and composition of the Pete Tim Garrison with G.0.0. Hong Kong.

2. In your Telegram 1403 of 4th April to C.-in-. Hong Kong you greed to the retention of two intentry Brigades until at least 1st January, 1947. It is important that the ultimate size and composition of th Pence Time Garrison should be decided as son as possi in order that detailed plans for accommodation and training facilities may be put in hand.

3. Reference paragraph 2 of C.-in. Hong Kong Telegram T.0.0. 250959 February.

(a) It is assumed that by the time the Garrison is

reduced to its Pence Time size the rotors at (c), (e), (f) and. (h) will have largol: ceasvi to exist: There will, however, always remain t internal security factor which in my opinion wil require the preference of not less than one Pri of British troops.

(b)

The factors in sub para (d) and (g) will gler mounte in Pence. In my opinion Hong Kong is undefendool.
