I have had a long and interesting discussion with Moss, now Director of Air Services, and formerly Chief Air Official when matters affecting air services came under the Harbour Master. He has recently been spending leave in Australia after being released from Stanley and he knows the A.N.A. and their history and also Holyman personally. He is himself very anxious to see this proposed new service established, bath on account of his knowledge of A.N.A. 's efficiency and readiness and as it falls in with the local Government policy of encouraging all forms of air communications with HongKong. He states that the Home Government policy is to veto any ritish services which parallel B.0.A.C. services, but he argues that a direct Australia/ Hong Kong service cannot be deemed to parallel the B.0.A.C. Australia/Hong Kong service via their branch from Singapore.
Moss tells us that Skymasters are the biggest planes which can land at Kai Tak, but that they can definitely do so.
