"one thousand dollars and to imprisonment for six months".

An Ordinance to amend the Companies Ordinance,

(4th February, 1977]

Enacted by the Governor of Hong Kong, with the advice and consent

of the Legislative Council thereof.

1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Companies (Amendment) Short die. Ordinance 1977.

2. Section 265 of the principal Ordinance is amended-

Amendment of secdan 251.

(a) in subsection (1) by inserting after paragraph (ca) the following Cup230)

new paragraphɛ-

"[eb) any amount due in respect of compensation or liability for compensation under the Workmen's Compensation Ordinance açorued before the relevant date and, where the compensation is a periodical payment, the amount due in respect thereof shall be taken to be the amount of the lump sum for which the periodical payment could, if redeemable, be redeemed on an application being made for that purpose under the Workmen's Compensation Ordinance, but this paragraph shall not apply to any amount due in respect of compensation or liability for compensation where the company has entered into a contract with a person carrying on
