An Ordinance to amend the Corporal Punishment Ordinance.

Enacted by the Governor of Hong Kong, with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council thereof.

1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Corporal Punishment (Amendment) Ordinance 1972.

2. Section 5 of the principal Ordinance is amended in subsection (1) by deleting paragraph (g) and substituting the following

"(g) the caning shall be carried out-

(i) if the offender is apparently of or above the age of sixteen years, in a prison;

(ii) if the offender is apparently under the age of sixteen years, either in a prison or in the premises of a court, as the court may order after consultation with the Commissioner of Prisons:
