(iii) the operator is debarred from picking up passengers at the place in question by reason of the conditions attached to the franchise or by reason of any other enact- meat.

(3) A passenger or intending passenger on a public omnibus shall not travel-

(4) in or on the upper deck of the vehicle unless he occupies a seat provided for that purpose:

or

(8) in any part of the vehicle which is not pro- vided for the conveyance of passengers,

(4) A passenger or intending passenger in a public light bus shall not-

(a) enter or remain in or on the vehicle when requested not to do so by the driver on the grounds that--

6) the petrol or oil tank of the vehicle is to be filled;

(ii) the vehicle is carrying its full com- plement of passengers; or

(ii) the driver is debarred by reason of any enactment, or by reason of any condition altached to the vehicle licence issued in respect of the vehicle, from permitting any passenger to enter or remain in the vehicle at the place in question;

(6) enter or alight from the vehicle when re- quested not to do so by the driver on the grounds that by reason of any enactment, or by reason of any condition attached to the vehicle licence issued in respect of the vehicle, the place in question is a place where-

or

(i) the vehicle is not permitted to stop;

(i) the passengers are prohibited from alighting from the vehicle."

10. Regulation 27 of the principal regulations is amended

by deleting "Any servant of an operator in uniform and on duty”

and substituting the following...........

"Any person who is the servant of an operator of a public omnibus and who is in uniform and on duty”.

11. Regulation 28 of the principal regulations is amended by deleting "or in a public car" and substituting the following-

a public light bus or a public car".

12. Regulation 29 of the principal regulations is amended- (a) by deleting "Immediately before or on the termination of any journey, a conductor, or, in the case of a public car on which no conductor is carried, the driver, so far as is practicable, shall search" and substituting the following-

"Immediately before the termination or on the termi- nation of any journey by a public omnibus, a public light bus or a public car u conductar, or in the case of a public light bus or a public car on which no conductor is carried the driver, shall search so far as is practicable":

(b) by inserting after "conductor",

it occurs, the following

"or driver, as the case may be,".

The purpose of these regulations is to extend the application of

appropriate provisions in the principal regulations to public light buses.

The principal regulations which will be applicable to public light buses relate to the duties of operators, the conduct of drivers, conductors and

passengers, and the recovery and disposal of lost property.
