6. The Fourth Schedule to the principal regulations is

amended in paragraph 11 by deleting "dual purpose vehicles regis-

tered for use as private cars and as goods vehicles" and substi- tuting the following-

"public light buses and private-light_buses",

Explanatory Note.

(This Note is not part of the regulations, but is intended ta indicate their general purport).

Regulation 2 amends regulation 3 of the principal regulations by substituting a new class of driving licence namely, a driving licence for public light buses and private light buses.

1. Regulation 3 revokes and replaces regulation 4 of the principal regulations. The new regulation 4 declares that any person who is the holder of a driving licence which entitles him to drive all goods vehicles will be entitled to drive a taxi, public omnibus, public light bus, public car, private omnibus or private light bus when these vehicles are out of service. Under the new regulation 4A the holder of a driving licence which entitles him to drive goods vehicles, which are not more than two tons unladen weight, and private cars may also drive taxis, public cars. private light buses and public light buses if these vehicles are out of service.

3. Regulation 4 makes consequential amendments to regulation 12 of the principal regulations by including therein references to a public light bus and a private light bus. The effect of these amendments is that a licence to drive these vehicles shall not be issued to a person under 21 years of age.

Regulation 5 adds two new regulations, 23A and 238 which—

(a) empower the Commissioner for Transport to issue driving licences in respect of light buses to anyone who satisfies him that he is competent to drive such vehicles by reason of having passed a driving test; and

(b) provide that the holders of driving licences in respect of certain classes of motor vehicles, shall be deemed by virtue thereof to hold licences to drive light buses.

5. The effect of the amendment contained in regulation 6 is that the Commissioner for Transport may require a candidate for a licence to drive a public light bus or a private light bus to comply with such addi- tional requirements as the Commissioner may udd.

三、本認的第四款對岸有婗辦第十二歌加以打,以便將公共小型巴士改私 牛小型巴士包括在战之適用範間內。此乃由於其他格打面油引起者,該項 旨在使該類車輛之駕駛執郕不得瑟與未滿二十一歲之人士。
