#. Part II of the principal regulations is amended in the heading "Section III-Omnibuses.", by inserting after "Om- nibuses", the following-

"and light buses”.

9. Regulation 35 of the principal regulations is revoked and replaced by the following-

"Overall dimensions

35. (1) The overall height of a single-decked omnibus shall not exceed ten feet six inches.

(2) The overall height of a double-decked om- nibus shall not exceed fifteen feet.

(3) The overall height of a light bus shall not exceed nine fect.

(4) The overall length of a light bus shall not exceed eighteen feet.

(5) The overall width of a light bus shall not exceed seven feet six inches.".

10. Regulation 36 of the principal regulations is revoked and replaced by the following-

**Weight and calculation of weights transmitted to road.

36. (1) The sum of the weights transmitted to the road by-

(a) all the wheels of an omnibus shall not exceed

sixteen toast

(b) any two wheels of an omnibus which are in line transversely shall not exceed nine and a half tons;

(c) ull the wheels of a light bus shall not exceed

three tons.

(2) Notwithstanding paragraphs (a) and (c) of paragraph (1) the Commissioner may in writing per- mit, subject to such terms and conditions and for such period as appears to him necessary, the use of

(a) an omnibus when the sum of the weights transmitted to the road by all the wheels of the vehicle exceeds sixteen tons; and

(b) a light bus when the sum of the weights transmitted to the road by all the wheels of the vehicle exceeds three lops.

(3) In this regulation the weight transmitted to the road by a vehicle shall be taken to be the weight

so transmitted by the vehicle when-

(a) it is complete; and

(A) fully equipped for servien, with a full supply

of water, oil and fuel on board; and

(c) loaded with weights of one hundred and

twelve pounds per person which are-

(i) placed in the correct relative positions for each passenger for whom a seat is pro- vided, and the driver, and conductor (if any); and

(ii) in the case of an omnibus in which standing passengers may lawfully be carried, reasonably distributed in the space in which the standing passengers may be carried.”.

11. Regulation 38 of the principal regulations is revoked and replaced by the following- "Springs.

38. The system of springing of-

(a) an omnibus; and

(6) a light bus.

shall be so designed that there is no excessive body sway.".

12. Regulation 40 of the principal regulations is revoked.

13. Regulation 43 of the principal regulations is revoked and replaced by the following-

"Side overhang.

43. No part of an omnibus or a light bus, other than a direction indicator when in operation or a driving mirror, shall project laterally beyond the outer lace of the outer tyre of the rearmost wheel on the same side of the vehicle as the projection in the case of-

(a) an omnibus by more than six inches; and (6) a light bus, by more than seven inches.”.

14. Regulation 44 of the principal regulations is revoked and replaced by the following-

"Foot

brakes.

44. The brakes of one of the braking systems of-

(d) an omnibus; and

(b) a light bus,

shall be applied by pedal.”.
