The Schedule to the principal regulations is amended-

(a) in the third column of Form 1, by deleting "sender" and

substituting the following-

"vendor":

(b) by inserting between the third and fourth columns of

Form 1 a new column headed-

"Number and type of identity document of voidpr...”.

Explanatory Note.

(This Note is not part of the regulations, but is intended to indicate their general purport).

The new regulations 8 and 8A will make it an offence for marine stores dealers and marine atores collectors to purchase marine stores from a person apparently under 17 years or to purchase unless he has inspected the vendor's identity card, passport or other like document. The ammend- ments to regulation $ and the Schedule will require details of that docu- ment to be recorded in the dealer's book.

The object of these amendments, which conform to similar amend- ments proposed to the Pawnbrokers Ordinance, it to make it less easy to dispose of stolen goods to marine stores dealers and collectors,
