ROAD TRAFFIC ORDINANCE.

(Chapter 220).

ROAD TRAFFIC (ROADS AND SIGNS) (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS 1968.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 3 of the Road Traffic Ordinance, the Governor in Council has made the follow- ing regulations-

1. These regulations may be cited as the Road Traffic (Roads and Sigos) (Amendment) Regulations 1968.

2. Regulation 4 of the principal regulations is amended by deleting "traffic light" and substituting the following-

"any traffic signals”.

3. Regulation 7 of the principal regulations is amended by deleting paragraph (2) and substituting the following-

"(2) Any such lines or words shall be in such colours as the Authority may in his discretion approve, by notice in the Gazette, for use for the purpose of this regulation and may be painted on the road or made of any suitable material embedded in the road or fixed to the surface of the road.".

4. Regulation 8 of the principal regulations is revoked and replaced by the following-

"Neglect of

B. Any person who fails to conform to the indication given by...

(a) a prescribed traffic sign;

(b) lines or words placed on any road under

regulation 7:

(c) a red or amber light or the intermittent red lights, when shown by traffic signals used in accordance with regulation 11; or

(d) a red light, when shown by traffic signals used in accordance with regulation 13.

shall be guilty of an offence.",

Regulations 11 and 12 of the principal regulations are revoked and replaced by the following—

"Trafic ignals.

11. (1) Traffic signals may be used for the control of vehicular traffic and shall be of the size, colour and type prescribed either by paragraph (2) or (3).
