(ii) by adding, after sub-paragraph (b) the following-

"(c) no animal or bird shall be landed from any

aircraft at any time.";

(b) in paragraph (2), by inserting after "vessel" the follow-

ing

"or aircraft.".

5. Regulation & of the principal regulations is amended by deleting paragraph (a) and substituting the following—

"(a) the cattle pier at Kennedy Town Abattoir;".

Regulation 8 of the principal regulations is amended by deleting "by sea or by land".

7. Regulation 9 of the principal regulations is revoked and replaced by the following-

9. (1) For the purposes of this regulation. "abattoir" means an abattoir specified in the First Schedule to the Abattoirs By-laws 1968.

(2) Subject to the terms of any special permit-

(a) every pig, sheep or goat landed in the Colony from the sea shall forthwith be taken or driven by the most direct route to such abattoir as the senior veterinary officer may direct;

(b) every other animal landed in the Colony from the sea shall forthwith be taken or driven by the most direct route to the Government Depot at Kennedy Town or Ma Tau Kok, as the case may be, or, if the senior veterinary officer thinks it, to such abattoir as he may direct; and

(c) every animal which is brought into the Colony by land shall forthwith be taken or driven by the most direct route to the Government Depot at Ma Tau Kok.

(3) Subject to the terms of any special permit, every animal which is taken to an abattoir or a Government Depot under paragraph (2) shall, unless. slaughtered forthwith, be detained at that abattoir or depot in segregation, at the risk and expense of the owner, for such period as may be decided by the senior veterinary officer.".

8. Regulation 12 of the principal regulations is amended by deleting "Any animal or bird which has been conveyed in the same vessel or train, or has otherwise been in contact with any diseased animal or bird" and substituting the following-

"Any animal or bird which has been conveyed in the same vessel, aircraft, train or vehicle as any diseased animal or bird, or which has otherwise been in contact with any diseased animal or bird".

Regulation 14 of the principal regulations is amended by deleting paragraph (b) and substituting the following-

"(b) a certificate to the satisfaction of the senior veterinary officer, signed by the master of the vessel or the com- mander of the aircraft from which the animals were landed, or in the case of any animals brought into the Colony by land, by the person in charge of the animals during the journey, stating that no case of disease has occurred during the voyage, flight or journey, and giving the following information-

() nature of the animals embarked;

(ii) port or place of embarkation:

(iii) number and causes of deaths:

(iv) nature and number of the animals to be landed or brought into the Colony.”.

Amendment of regulation 14.

10. The Schedule to the principal regulations is amended, in Amendment of Form B. by inserting after "shipment" the following-
