(4) The yield of water from the well ascertained in accordance with paragraph (3) shall be certified by the authorized architect to the antisfaction of the Buckling Authority.".

(This Note is not part of the regulations, but is intended to indicate their general purport).

These regulations amend the Building (Construction) Regulations 1956 by providing that for the purposes of regulation $9 of those regulations a well shall provide an adequate supply of water if during the period from the 1st day of December to the 30th day of April the yield of water from the well as ascertained and certified by the authorized architect is such as in the opinion of the Building Authority would be sufficient in all respects for all the purposes for which the well is to be used.

BUILDING (PLANNING) (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS 1966.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 26 of the Buildings Ordinance 1955, the Governor in Council has made the following regulations

1. These regulations may be cited as the Building (Planning) Citation (Amendment) Regulations 1966, and shall come into operation on mencement. the 1st day of September, 1966,

2. Regulation 9 of the Building (Planning) Regulations 1956 Amendment (hereinafter referred to as the principal regulations) is amended by of regulation the deletion, in paragraph (6), of "30" and the substitution therefor (GN.A. of the following-

3 Regulation 10 of the principal regulations is amended-

Amendment of regulation

(a) by the deletion of paragraph (4) and the substitution therefor 10.

of the following-

"(4) The maximum projection of any balcony or canopy (including cornices, mouldings or other features) erected over any street shall be-

(a) one-tenth of the width of the street: or

(b) ten feet,

whichever is the loss:

Provided that no portion of any such balcony or canopy shall be within fifteen feet, measured horizontally. of a line drawn vertically from a point in the centre line of the street nearest to such portion of the balcony or canopy."; and

(b) by the insertion, after paragraph (4), of the following new

paragraph-

"(5) No balcony which projects over a street, and no part of any such balcony, shall be higher than the level at which the vertical plane of maximum projection prescribed by paragraph (4) intersects the plane formed by the angle of 76 with the horizontal at the height at which a wall fronting or abutting on a street is required by regulation 18 to be set back.".
