Explanatory Note.

(This Note is not part of the regulations burt la intended to indicate their general purport).

These regulations replace the Factories and Industrial Undertakings (Radia- tion) Special Regulations 1957, in a revised form suitable for enactment under the Radiation Ordinance 1957, applicable to all undertakings, manufacturing, storing or handling radioactive substances, as opposed only to industrial under takings within the meaning of the Factories and Industrial Undertakings Ordin ance 1955. These regulations are complementary to the Radiation (Contred of Erradiating Apparatus) Regulations 1965. The two sets of regulations taken together cover the whole field of control in relation to radiation which is con- sidered necessary at the present time, and are designed to come into operation simultaneously.
