Explanatory Note

to indicate their general purport).

These regulations increase the fees payable under the Deaths Registration (Special Registers) Ordinance consequential upon similar increases of fees effected by the Births and Deaths Registration (Amendment) Ordinance 1965.

(Chapter 174).

BIRTHS AND DEATHS REGISTRATION (DESCRIPTION OF CAUSES OF DEATH) REGULATIONS 1965.

In exercise of the powers conferred by subsection (2) of section 29

of the Births and Deaths Registration Ordinance, the Governor in Council has made the following regulations—

ment.

1. These regulations may be cited as the Births and Deaths Citation and Registration (Description of Causes of Death) Regulations 1965, and acce shall come into operation on the day appointed for the commencement of the Births and Deaths Registration (Amendment) Ordinance 1965.

2. For the purpose of paragraph (d) of section 20 of the Births Description and Deaths Registration Ordinance, causes of death shall be described according to

W.H.O. in accordance with the Detailed List of Three-Digit Categories set out J-Digit List. in the Manual of the International Statistical Classification of Diseases, (Cap. 174). Injuries and Causes of Death, published by or by arrangement with the World Health Organization and as the same may from time to time be revised.
