ROAD TRAFFIC (TAXIS, PUBLIC OMNIBUSES AND PUBLIC CARS) (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS, 1964.
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 4 of the Road Traffic Ordinance, 1957, the Governor in Council has made the following regulations
1. These regulations may be cited as the Road Traffic (Taxis, Chedion. Public Omnibuses and Public Cars) (Amendment) Regulations, 1964.
2. The Road Traffic (Taxis. Public Omnibuses and Public Cars) Regulations, 1964, are amended by the addition, after regulation 3. the following new regulation-
"Tenders for registration of taxis.

3A. (1) The Authority may call for tenders for the registration of taxis on the payment of a premium.
(2) The premium shall be in addition to the regis- tration and licence fee payable under the Road Traffic (Registration and Licensing of Vehicles) Regulations, 1956 and shall not be refundable in any circumstances.
(3) The Authority shall allocate the taxis pursuant to any such tender in lots of ten or multiples of ten and not more than one hundred taxis to any one person for Hong Kong and Kowloon.
(4) Subject to paragraph (3) the Authority may register the number of taxis allocated pursuant to any such tender only to a person whose tender the Authority has accepted.
(5) (a) Any person whose tender has been accepted and who fails to pay the premium within fourteen days of notification of acceptance of his tender shall forfeit the right to register the number of taxis allocated to him and any deposit paid by him. (b) Any person who fails to register the number of taxis allocated to him within nine months of the notification of acceptance of his tender shall forfeit the right to register the number of taxis not then registered.
