Residential buildings.

"habitable space" means the aggregate of the areas of the floors in a building, excluding kitchens, staircases, staircase halls, lift landing,. the space used in providing the watercloset fitments, urinals and lavatory basins, required, by this regulation, to be provided, and any space occupied by machinery for any lift;

“living room” means any room intended or adapted as a place fo

cooking or sleeping:

"place of public entertainment" means any building constructed o

adapted to be used for any public entertainment;

"public dance ball" means any place opened, kept or used for the purpose of dancing, to which the general public is admitted, with or without payment for admission:

"public entertainment" means any entertainment to which the genenl public is admitted, with or without payment for admission;

"residential building" means a domestic building, hotel, boarding howe, hostel and any barrack or dormitory accommodation, but does nal include any hostel, dormitory or other room or premises provide for housing or lodging some or all of the pupils of any school out of school hours, whether such hostel dormitory or other room ou premises is in or is part of the same building or group of building as the classrooms in the school or not;

"school" has the meaning assigned to it by section 2 of the Education

Ordinance, 1952;

"tenement house" means a building in the domestic part of which any living room is intended or adapted for the use of more than om tenant or sub-tenant;

"usable floor space" means the aggregate of the areas of the floor in a building, excluding any staircases, staircase halls, lift landings the space used in providing the watercloset fitments, urinals and lavatory basins required, by this regulation, to be provided, and any space occupied by machinery for any lift, air-conditioning system or similar service provided for the building.

4. (1) Save as provided in paragraph (2), in every residential building-

(a) where separate waterclosets are not provided for male persone

and for female persons, the number of watercloset fitmen provided shall be not less than the number specified in Table I;

(6) where separate waterclosers are provided for male persons and for female persons, the number of watercloset fitmeas provided for female persons shall be not less than the qumb

specified in Table II and the number of watercloset fitments provided for male persons shall, save as provided in paragraph (c), be not less than the number specified in Table III,

(c) where separate waterclosets are provided for male persons and for female persons and urinals are installed for the use of male persons, the number of watercloset fitments and urinal for male persons shall be not less than the number specified in Table IV:

(d) the number of lavatory basins and baths or showers provided

shall not be less than the number specified in Table V,
