An Ordinance to amend the Pearl Culture (Control) Ordinance, 1958.

Be it enacted by the Governor of Hong Kong, with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council thereof, as follows-

1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Pearl Culture (Control) Short title (Amendment) Ordinance, 1959, and shall come into operation on the and commen same day as the Pearl Culture (Control) Ordinance, 1958 (hereinafter (26 of 1958). referred to as the principal Ordinance),

1. Section 2 of the principal Ordinance is amended by the deletion. Amendment of the definition "pearl oyster" and the substitution therefor of the of section 2. following-

***pearl oyster" means an oyster of the genus Pieria commonly known as "Penguin" or "Wing" and an oyster of the genus Pinctada and any other genus or species of oyster which the Director declares by notice in the Gazette to be a genus or species of pearl oyster:"".
