125. No person shall be carried on the right-hand side of the driver nor shall any article be so carried in such a position as to be liable to obstruct the driver.

126. The body both externally and internally and all windows and fittings and all seats for passengers shall be maintained in clean and good condition.

127. The lamp or lamps provided in compliance with the requirements of regulation 69 for the internal illumination of an omnibus and of the upper deck of a double-decked omnibus noi fitted with a permanent top to the upper deck shall be kept lighted at all times between sunset and sunrise when passengers are being carried.

128. The steering arms, steering rods and joints and all other moving parts of the steering mechanism shall be kept clean and free from rust.

129. The cxhaust pipe and all apparatus connected therewith shall be maintained in such conditions as to prevent so far as practicable any fumes from entering the vehicle.

130. Every speedometer provided in an omnibus in compliance with the requirements of regulation 78 shall ot all material times be maintained in good working order and kept free from any obstruction which might prevent its being easily read by the driver of an omnibus,

131. The petrol tank or other fuel tank shall not be filled nor shall any filler thereof be removed while the engine is running.

132. Except for the fuel and lubricant necessary for the use of the vehicle, no explosive highly inflammable or otherwise dangerous substance shall be carried on an omnibus, a taxi or a public car.

133. No trailer shall be drawn by an omnibus, a taxi "ör a public car.

134. (1) The seating capacity of an omnibus, a public car or a Laxi shall be the seating capacity shown in the vehicle licence issued in respect of that vehicle.

(2) No person shall drive or use or cause, suffer or permit to be driven or used an omnibus, a public car or a taxi for the carriage of passengers in excess of the number of passengers appearing in the vehicle licence in respect of that vehicle.

(3) The persons to whom such vehicle licence is granted shall not cause or suffer or permit to be on the vehicle passengers or other persons in excess of the number of passengers prescribed as aforesaid.

(4) For the purpose of this regulation--

(a) infants in arms shall not be reckoned as passengers; (b) where in any omnibus only children not exceeding three feet in height and not more than two necessary attendants are carried any three of such children may be reckoned as two passengers; and

(e) in any public car or taxi, two children not exceeding three feet in height shall be reckoned as one passenger.

135. A conductor shall be carried on any public omnibus Conductor whenever such vehicle is carrying passengers for hire or reward. to be

carried.

136. No vehicle shall be authorized as a public omnibus Design. unless-

of public Omnibus.

(a) prior approval has been oblained in writing from the Commissioner for the particular design or type of chassis to be used in connexion with a public omnibus over the route it is intended to use it;

(b) the body it is intended to construct or use for the carriage of passengers for hire or reward is constructed to plan and elevation and general arrangement drawings which shall have been previously submitted to and approved by the Commissioner;

Provided that this regulation shall not apply to a public omnibus which is licensed at the coming into force of these regulations.

137. No person shall break or in any way tamper with the Taximeters. seal or mark placed on the taximeter fitted to a taxi in accordance

with the provisions of regulation 79 or otherwise tamper with the taximeter.
