4. Any import permit granted by the Director of Commerce and Industry under the Order rescinded by these regulations in respect of any automatic machine and in force at the coming into operation of these regulations shall be deemed to be an import permit for the purposes of these regulations.

5. The Importation of Automatic Machines Order is rescinded.

Explanatory Note.

(This Note is not part of the repulations, but is intended

to indicate their general purport).

The importation of coin or disc operated amusement machines is at present prohibited except under permit by the Importation of Automatic Machines Order. These regulations, in replacing that Order, extend the prohibition to all amusement machinos (whether coin or disc operated or not) and to component parts thereof, but machines reproducing music or speech (eg. juke boxes) are freed from restriction.

FACTORIES AND INDUSTRIAL UNDERTAKINGS (AMENDMENT) Regulations, 1956.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 5 of the Factories and Industrial Undertakings Ordinance, 1955, the Commissioner of Labour has made the following regulations→→

1. These regulations may be cited as the Factories and Citation. Industrial Undertakings (Amendment) Regulations, 1956.

Regulation 2 of the Factories and Industrial Under- Amendment takings Regulations, 1955, (hereinafter referred to as the principal of regula regulations) is amended by the insertion after the definition of (G.N.A. 103/55) "building authority" of the following definition-

"building or engineering construction site" means the site of any industrial undertaking in which any machinery other than machinery worked entirely by hand is used in the construction, reconstruction, maintenance, repair, alteration or demolition of any building, railway, tram- way, harbour, dock, pier, canal, inland waterway, road, tunnel, bridge, viaduct, sewer, drain, well, telegraphic or telephonic installation, electrical undertaking, gas- work, waterwork or other work of construction, as well as the preparation for or laying the foundations of any such work or structure;
