IMPORTATION AND EXPORTATION ORDINANCE. (Chapter 50).

IMFORTATION (AUTOMATIC MACHINES) REGULATIONS, 1956.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 3 of the Im- portation and Exportation Ordinance, the Governor in Council has made the following regulations--

1. These regulations may be cited as the Importation Citation. (Automatic Machines) Regulations, 1956.

2. (1) In these regulations--

"automatic machine" means any mechanical device which is

designed-

(a) to-

(i) enable any person, by any means whatever, to release, set in motion, manipulate, control or direct the movement of any ball, projectile or other object or any electrical impulse; and

(ii) register any score or combination in any manner

whatsoever; or

(b) to effect the production to the manipulator upon insertion therein of any coin, disc or other object of any coin or article whatsoever,

other than a device which is designed solely for the purpose of recording the weight of any person or thing placed thereon, or for the purpose of producing postage stamps, cigarettes, non- alcoholic beverages or chocolate or other foodstuffs to the value of a coin to be inserted therein,

(a) For the purposes of these regulations, any separate com- ponent part of an automatic machine shall be deemed to be an automatic machine.

(2) Any person who contravenes the provisions of paragraph machines (1) shall be guilty of an offence and shall be liable to a fine of except twenty thousand dollars and to imprisonment for one year.
