(2) (4) The returning officer shall appoint each presiding officer, assistant presiding officer, poll clerk, interpreter and other officer by handing to such officer a form of appointment in accordance with Form 11 of the Appendix. (b) Each presiding officer, assistant presiding officer, poll clerk, interpreter and other officer shall retain his form of appointment on his person during such time as he is employed on such duties.

20. A notice in accordance with Form 12 of the Appendix or as near thereto as circumstances admit, giving directions for the guidance of electors in voting shall be exhibited outside every polling station and in every compartment in the polling station.

Ballot Boxes, Ballot Papers and Official Mark.

21. Every ballot box shall be so constructed that the ballot papers can be put therein but cannot be withdrawn therefrom without the box being unlocked.

22. Every ballot paper shall be in accordance with Form 13 of the Appendix or as near thereto as circumstances admit and--

(2) shall contain the full names of the candidates as shown on their respective nomination papers and arranged alphabetically in order of the English version of their surnames and (if there are two or more candidates with the same surname) of their other names;

(b)

shall be capable of being folded up;

(e) shall be perforated in such a manner to enable it to be torn across to permit the vote recorded for each separate candidate to be handled separately;

(d) shall have a number and the date of the election printed

on the back; and

(c) shall have attached a counterfoil with the same number

printed on the face.

23. The official mark shall be kept secret.

Polling Stations,

24. (1) Each candidate may appoint agents (in these regula Appuini- tions referred to as polling agents) to attend at the polling stations ment of

polling for the purpose of detecting personation.

(2) Notice in writing of the appointment in accordance with Form 14 of the Appendix stating the names and addresses of the Form 14. persons appointed, shall be given by the candidate to the returning officer two clear days at least before the opening of the poll

Provided that if a polling agent dies or becomes incapable of acting, the candidate may at any time appoint another polling agent in his place, and shall forthwith give to the returning officer noties in writing in accordance with such form of the name and address of the polling agent so appointed.

(3) A polling agent in respect of whom such mutire as aforesaid has been given may, during the hours of the poll, attend at the polling station to which he has been appointed.

(4) A candidate may not appoint more than three pulling agents to attend at any one polling station.

(5) Not more than one polling agent in respect of each candidate shall be admitted to any polling station at any one time.

25. (1) No person shall be admitted to vote at any palling Admission station other than that station which is appropriate to that part to polling of the register of electors in which his name appears.

(2) The presiding officer shall regulate the number of electors to be admitted to the polling station at the same time and shall exclude all other persons except-

(d) members of his staff;

(b) the returning officer and members of his staff;

(e) the candidates;

(d) election agents;

(e) polling agents;

(/) officers appointed under these regulations ;

(g) police officers on duty;
