PUBLIC HEALTH (SANITATION) ORDINANCE, 1935. (Ordinance No. 15 of 1935).

DOMESTIC CLEANLINESS AND PREVENTION OF DISEASE (AMENDMENT) BY-LAWS, 1955.

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 4 of the Public Health (Sanitation) Ordinance, 1935, the Urban Council has made the following by-laws--

1. These by-laws may be cited as the Domestic Cleanliness Citation. and Prevention of Disease (Amendment) By-laws, 1955.

The by-laws contained in Schedule A to the Public Addition Health (Sanitation) Ordinance, 1935, under the heading "Domestic w Cleanliness and Prevention of Disease", set forth on pages 194 to 107 of the annual volume of the Ordinances of Hong Kong for the year 1935 are amended by the addition-

(a) after by-law 8 of the following new by-law-

8A. (1) (a) The Council may at any time with the view to the prevention or mitigation of any epidemic, endemic, contagious or infectious disease, direct that destructive action be taken for the extermina- tion of rodents in all or any premises in any district in which the Council may deem such action necessary.

(b) Any destructive action directed by the Council shall be undertaken only by members of the Urban Services Department.

(c) No destructive action directed by the Council shall be undertaken unless due notice thereof in writing has been given to the occupiers concerned.

(2) Any occupier of any premises in which bait, whether poisoned or not, or any trap has been placed for the purpose as aforesaid or any other person not being a duly authorized member of the Urban Services Department who handies, removes, destroys or in any
