officer shall be disregarded for the purpose of computing the length of service qualifying for pension, annual allowance or gratuity: Provided that any such break in service shall not be disregarded in computing the length of service for the purpose of determining the amount of such pension, annual allowance or gratuity.
(b) Paragraph (3) of this regulation shall be deemed to have had effect from 1st January, 1947, in relation to officers to whom Part V of these regulations do not apply and from the 9th December, 1949, in relation to officers to whom Part V of these regulations apply."

Resolved that the Emergency (Principal) Amendment (No. 2) Regulations, 1950. made on 3rd October, 1950, by the Governor in Council under section 2 of the Emergency Regulations Ordinance, No. 5 of 1922, be approved under subsection (3) of section 3 of the said Ordinance and come into operation on the 20th October, 1950.
