(1) Section 2.
SECOND COLUMN.
(1) Section 2 is amended-
(a) by the repeal of paragraph (j) of subsec- tion (1) and the substitution therefor of the following-
**() "Convention" includes the In- ternational Opium Convention signed at the Hague on the 33rd day of January, 1912, the similar Convention signed at Geneva on the rgth day of February, 1925, the International Convention for Limiting the Manufacture and Regulating the Distribution of Narcotic Drugs signed at Geneva. on the 13th day of July, 1931, and any convention or final pro- tocol amending, in supplemen» tation of or in substitution for the same.'
(b) by the repeal of subsection (2) and the
substitution therefor of the following-
**(2) "corresponding law" in this Ordinance means any law stated in a certificate purporting to be issued by or on behalf of the government of any place outside the Colony to be a law providing for the control and regulation in that place of the manu- facture, sale, use, export and import of drugs in accordance with the provisions of the Convention, and any statement in any such certificate as tu the effect of the law mentioned in the certificate, or any statement in any such certificate that any facts constitute an offence against that law, shail be conclusive. shall be admitted in evidence upon production by or on behalf of the Director in any proceeding."
(2) Section 3 is amended by the addition after
subsection (3) of the following-

"(3A) The provisions of this Ordin- ance so far as they relate to the manufac- ture, import, export and wholesale trade in dangerous drugs, shall apply to methyl- morphine (commonly known as codeine), ethylmorphine (commonly known dionin) and their respective salts: vided that nothing in this subsection shall be deemed to control the retail trade in the said drugs or to interfere with medical preparations containing them or with the use of these drugs for medical purposes." (3) Section 20 is amended-

(a) by the insertion after the words the figures "Geneva Convention, 1931," in the fourth line of subsection (2) of the following-
"as the same may be amended sup- plemented or replaced,";
(b) by the deletion of the words "League of Nations" in the fifth line of subsection (2) and the substitution therefor of the fallow- ing-
"United Nations";
(c) by the repeal of subsection (3).
(4) Section 22 is amended---
(a) by the insertion after the words and figures "Genova Convention, 19a5" in the fourth line of the following-
"as the same may be amended supple- mented or replaced, ";
(b) by the deletion of the words "League of Nations" in the fifth line and the substity. tion therefor of the following-
"United Nations".
