Amendment

of

(in) It shall be lawful for any justice of the peace to order that any allen in respect of whom he is satisfied-

(a) a deportation order is still in force; and

(b) his detention in custody is required pending the

making of an order under sub-section (6);

to issue a warrant ordering that such alien be arrested and be kept in custody in any police station or in any prison or house of detention for a period of seven days. Any warrant lawfully issued hereunder shall be a warrant of arrest and detention within the meaning of sub-section (1) of section 51 of the Police Force Ordinance, 1948.

(1) The Governor in Council may make regulations for carrying the provisions of sub-sections (6), (7), (8) and (10) of this section into effect and for prescribing forms and procedure."

6. Sub-section (5) of section 16 of the principal Ordinance sub-section is hereby amended by deleting the words "a British subject" in the fifth line thereof and substituting therefor the words "not an alien".

7. The principal Ordinance is hereby amended by the new section insertion of the following section as section 18A thereof :-

3. The principal Ordinance is hereby amended-

(a) by inserting throughout the principal Ordinance the word "First" before the word "Schedule" save and except where the word "Schedule" is already by reason of the amendments effected by this Ordinance preceded by the word "Second" or already preceded by the word "First"; and

(b) by the addition as the Second Schedule thereto of

the First Schedule to this Ordinance; and

(c) by the addition in the First Schedule to the principal Ordinance of Forms 10, 11, 12 and 13 of the Forms in the Second Schedule to this Ordinance.

9. This Ordinance shall come into operation on the first day of January, 1950.
