An Ordinance" further to amend the Rating Ordinance, 1901.

Be it enacted by the Governor of Hong Kong, with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council therenf:

1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Rating (Amendment) Short title. Ordinance, 1048, and shall be read as one with the Rating Ordinance Ordinance, 1901, hereinafter referred to as the principal Ordinance. 1901.

2. Paragraph (1) of Section 2 of the principal Ordinance is Amendment hereby amended by the deletion of the words “* except piers of the appearing in the third line thereof and by the substitution therefor principal of the wards and includes piars ".

Ordinance.

3. Nothing in this Ordinance shall be deemed to impose until Saving. the 1st January, 1960, any liability for the payment of rates in respect of any pier which is the subject of a lease or licence granted Ordinance No. II of by the Crown before the 1st January, 1948.
