An Ordinance to amend the Interpretation Ordinance, 1911,

[26th April, 1940.]

Be it enacted by the Governor of Hong Kong, with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council thereof, as follows:-

1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Interpretation Short title. Amendment Ordinance, 1940.

2. Section 45 of the Interpretation Ordinance, 1911, is Repeal and hereby repealed and replaced as follows:-

45. Where under any Ordinance the Governor is given Signification power to make any appointment, give any directions, issues, of the

Provided always that the foregoing provision shall not apply to the power of the Governor to make any rules, or issue any warrants or proclamations which shall be made or issued only under the hand of the Governor himself.

8. The following new section shall be inserted in the addition of Interpretation Ordinance, 1911, to follow section 45 there- new action of :-
