Governor.
ORDINANCES OF HONGKONG, 1844-1923, ORDINANCE, 1923,
By His Excellency Sir REGINALD EDWARD STUBBS, Knight Commander of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Governor and Commander-in- Chief of the Colony of Hongkong and its Dopondencies, and Vice-Admiral of the same:
Whereas provision was made by the Ordinances at Hongkong, 1844-1023, Ordi- pance, 1923, for the preparation of a new edition of the Ordinances of the Colony:
And whereas the five volumes of the said edition containing the Ordinances of the Colony are now completed and have been published:
And whereas it is provided in section 4 of the Law Revision Ordinance, 1924, that the said Ordinance shall come into operation by proclamation of the Governor, which shall not be issued before the proclamation referred to in section 8 (2) of the Ordinances of Hongkong, 1844-1923, Ordinance, 1929, and which may form part of such proclaine- tion:
Now therefore I, Sir REGINALD EDWARD STUBBS, Knight Commander of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Governor and Commander-in- Chief of the Colony of Hongkong and its Dependencies, and Vice-Admiral of the same, do hereby proclaim that the said five volumes of the said edition were laid before the Legislative Council on the 18th day of September, 1934, and were approved by the said Council, and that the Law Revision Ordinance, 1924, shall come into operation on the 10th day of September, 1924.
