PROCLAMATION.

Governor.

By His Excellency Sir BROTNALD EDWARD STURES Knight Commander of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George Governor and Commander-in- Chief of the Colony of Hongkong und its Dependencies and Vice-Admiral of the same.

Whereas by the twelfth section of the Volunteer Ordinance 1803 it is enacted that the Governor may in case of great national emergency or in ease of actual or apprehended invasion of or attack on the Colony by proclamation call out any Volunteer Corps for actual military service and whereas it is also enacted by the aforesaid section that the period of such service shall continue so long as the Governor in Council shall consider necessary and shall end only by order of the Governor :

And whereas the Hongkong Volunteer Corps was called out for actual military service by such proclamation on the 5th day of August 1914:

And whereas it appears to me by and with the advice of the Executive Council of this Colony that it is unnecessary that the period of such service should continue any lunger:

Now Therefore I Sir REGINALD EDWARD STUBBs Knight Commander of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George Governor and Commander-in- Chief of the Colony of Hongkong and its Dependencies and Vice-Admiral of the same do hereby order that the period of such service shall come to an end from and after the 31st day of December 1918.

Given under my hand and the Public Seal of the Colony at Victoria Hongkong this 24th day of December 1919.
