The value of foreign Opium imported continued to shew a falling off, owing to increased production of and demand for native opium, the quality of which is now much superior to what it formerly was. There was an increase in the export of Black Tea of 24,385 piculs compared with 1886, and in Green Tea a falling off of 7,506 pauls, The export of Silk amounted to 41,752 piculs and 55,742 piculs waste, etc., against 45,740 piculs and 46,120 piculs waste, etc. the previous year.
