REMARKS ON GOODS.
The above rates include the expense of Transit through Egypt.
No Goods are to be received for delivery beyond Suez, excepting those intended for shipment into the Peninsular and Oriental Company's Stearnera at Alexandria; all other Goods are to be retired at Suez, and the Duty paid thereon by the Consignees, The above rule does not apply to Merchandise Specie, or Parcels intended for shipment at Alexan- dria into the Steamers of the Austrian Lloyds Com- pany; but upon all such Packages the Transit ex- penses must be charged the Shipper, in addition to the Freight, at Suez, viz. :-on Merchandise, $30 per ton of 20 cwt gross; Gold, Silver, and Valuables, 4 per cent on the declared value,
On Goods shipped to Marseilles a charge of 10 cents per cwt, is to he made for landing expenses, in addition to the Freight.
The higher rates of Freight at which the Company take all Insurable Risks may be ascertained on application at the Company's Offices.
REMARKS ON PARCELS.
GUARANTEE FREIGHT.—In addition to the Freight
on Parcels to Malta, Marseilles, Gibraltar, and South-| ampton, a Guarantee Freight in to be charged on each Parcel at the rate of 15 cents for every $õ value. The minimum charge for Guarantee Freight is 50

PACKAGES, AND PARCELS. The Peninsular and Oriental Steam Navigation Company reserve to themselves the right of charging Freight by value, weight, or measurement, and will not be answerable for leakage, breakage, or conse- quences arising from insufficiency of address or pac- kage, or for any loss, damage, detention, or over-car- age, which may arise from the following regulations not being strictly complied with:—
Shipments must be made in accordance with the Company's Regulations at this Agency.
The Marke, Numbers, and Port of Destination must be distinctly marked on every Package. Overland Packages should as little as possible ex- ceed 100 lte. in weight, or they be unavoidably de- Lained in Egypt.
A written Declaration of the Contents and Value
of the Goods is required by the Company, and must be delivered by the Shipper to the Company's Agent with the Bill of Lading. A wrong description of The Guarantee Freight is waived in the case of contents, or false declaration of value, shall release Parcels of Samples, declared in writing before ship-seizure, or detention, and the Goods shall be charged the Company from all responsibility in case of loss,
