Statistics on training visas granted
Following are a question by the Hon Chan Wing-chan and a written reply by the Secretary for Security, Mr Peter Lai, in the Legislative Council today (Wednesday):
Question:
Regarding the information provided by the Government to the LegCo Panel on Manpower relating to overseas workers taking up employment in the territory for training purposes, will the Government inform this Council of -

the nature and number of posts under the trading and investment, manufacturing, banking and hotel sectors respectively as shown in the "training visas breakdown by nature of business"; and;
the number of applications for extension of stay, the time required for approving such applications as well as the longest period of extension granted, in respect of each category of duration of stay as shown in the "training visas breakdown by duration of stay"?
