Tai Po District Board by-election forum tomorrow

Residents in Tai Po are invited to attend a district board by-election forum for the Shuen Wan constituency tomorrow (Saturday).

The forum, organised by the Tai Po District Office, will allow candidates to elaborate on their platforms and give residents an opportunity to engage in a floor discussion with them.

Three candidates competing for the seat, vacated by former district board member Mr Chan Koon-yau, are Mr Chan Mei-tak, Mr Man Chen-fai and Mr Roger Li Kwok-keung.

The Shuen Wan constituency covering Hong Lok Yuen and nearby villages and all villages along Ting Kok Road, Tai Po, has an electorate of 4,857.

The forum will be held at Tai Wo Neighbourhood Community Centre, Tai Wo Estate, Tai Po at 2.30 pm.

Proposed road works in Tung Chung

The Territory Development Department has proposed infrastructure works in Tung Chung to serve the proposed residential and community facilities development in areas 13, 22, 25, 39, 40 and 41.

The proposed works are part of the North Lantau Phase IIB Development Project in Tung Chung and include the construction of roads, a vehicular turning head, footpaths, a cycle track, a cycle park, an amenity area, drainage system and other ancillary works.

A section of Tung Chung Road and footpaths will be closed. During the construction, appropriate traffic and pedestrian access will be maintained to minimise inconvenience to the public.

Works will begin in May for completion in 26 months.
