Slope experts to meet the public

Government engineers and building surveyors will hold two sessions of face-to- face meetings with members of the public during the Serving The Community Week starting next Tuesday (December 3).

Jointly organised by the Civil Engineering Department (CED) and the Buildings Department (BD), the meet-the-public sessions aimed to promote the importance of slope maintenance and to improve the departments' services to the public, a spokesman for CED said today (Thursday).

"The two sessions will be attended by geotechnical engineers from CED and building surveyors from BD who are ready to provide comprehensive guidance and advice relating to slope maintenance and slope safety," he said.

The first session will be held on December 3 between noon and 2 pm at the conference room of the Wan Chai District Office, 21st floor, Southorn Centre, 130 Hennessy Road, Wan Chai.

The other session will be held from 6 to 8 pm on December 6 (Friday) at the conference room, first floor, Causeway Bay Community Centre, Eastern District Office, 7 Fook Yum Road, Causeway Bay.

Members of the public who wish to participate in these two meet-the-public sessions are requested to make prior appointments on 2760 5760 during normal office hours. Appointments will be arranged on a first-come-first-served basis.
