Document Imaging System going live at Land Registry
About 240 million pages of existing land records at the Land Registry will be stored in a state-of-the-art optical imaging system.
The Document Imaging System (DIS) will start operating from Monday (July 1) by scanning and recording all newly registered land documents on optical disks. About 55,000 pages of newly registered documents will be processed each day.
Speaking at the inauguration of the system today (Friday), the Land Registrar, Mr Kenneth Pang, said electronic images stored on optical disks would replace the paper documents currently maintained by the Land Registry.
