New measures for applying government temporary jobs
The Labour Department announced today (Tuesday) that from Saturday (June 1) until August 31, new measures would be introduced to handle applications for government temporary jobs in order to save time for job seekers.
Under the new arrangement, job seekers will not be required to queue outside the offices of the Local Employment Service (LES) for registrations. Instead, information on vacancies will be posted up in LES offices.
Those interested in the jobs can apply by filling in standard application forms (GF 340) and send them to the Central Recruitment Unit (CRU) of the Labour Department in Room 500-508, Citylink Plaza, No 1 Sha Tin Station Circuit, Sha Tin. CRU will then refer the applications to the relevant recruiting departments which in turn will arrange their own selection interviews. Enquiries on selection interviews can be made directly to the individual department concerned.
