Sewage facilities to be upgraded
The Drainage Services Department is inviting tenders for civil works for Central and Wan Chai East Pumping Stations and Screening Plants.
A spokesman for the department said that works would involve construction of a sewage pumping station and improvements to existing screening plant in Central.
"It will also involve construction of a sewage pumping station and a screening plant in Wan Chai.
"The purpose of the works is to upgrade the existing sewage screening plants in Central and Wan Chai districts in order to ensure that the screening plants have sufficient capacity to cater for additional flows which will be delivered to them during their design life," he said.
Construction will commence in October this year and scheduled for completion in two years.

Tenders must be clearly marked and addressed to the Chairman of the Central Tender Board. They must be placed in the Government Secretariat Tender Box at the lift lobby, lower ground floor, Central Government Offices (East Wing), Lower Albert Road, Hong Kong before noon on Friday, June 28, 1996.
Late tenders will not be accepted.
