Students enrolled in UGC-funded part-time programmes are counted within the target full-time-equivalent (fte) student numbers. Their places are subsidised through the recurrent grants allocated to the institutions by the UGC.
The UGC-funded institutions operate these courses on a self-financing basis, recovering their full direct costs through tuition fees charged to students. No direct Government subvention is provided for these courses.
