Thanks were also extended to three other recently retired members Johannes Chan Man-mun, Mr Chan Chun-fat and Mr Yip Wah - for their contributions to the CPCE.
The CPCE was set up in 1986. It has five sub-committees currently working on the themes for 1995/96, namely, Civic Rights and Representative Government; Equal Opportunities and Elimination of Discrimination; and the Rule of Law.
Upcoming activities will include the Civic Education Exhibition '95, a cartoon/illustration design competition on the theme "Equal Opportunities and Elimination of Discrimination", and a publicity campaign on human rights education.
Also in the pipeline is the production of a series of publications on civic education, human rights and the Basic Law as well as a human rights education teaching kit for primary school students.
Other members of the CPCE include: Mr Chan Kar-lok, Mrs Anita Chan Fok Po-chun, Mr Chan Wing-tai, Mr Cheng Kai-nam, Dr Fanny Cheung Mui-ching, Mr Raymond Chow Wai-kam, Dr John Ho Dit-sang, Miss Junia Ho, Mr Lai Chi-tong, Mr Peter Lam Yuk-wah, Mrs Justina Leung Ngai Mou-yin, Dr Lo Chi-kin, Mr Tai Hay- lap and Mr William Tsui Hing-chuen.

Re-appointments to Civil Service Salaries Commission
The Government announced today (Friday) that the Governor had re-appointed Mr David A Morris and Mr Nicholas Chiu Sai-chuen as members of the Standing yan Commission on Civil Service Salaries and Conditions of Service.

Mr Morris and Mr Chiu have served on the Standing Commission for eight and six years respectively.
