(b)

(c)

the number of trauma and blood loss cases handled by the accident and emergency departments of public hospitals in each of the past three

Reply:

Mr President,

(a)

I have been advised by the Hospital Authority that the number of trauma patients, including cases of blood loss, received at the accident and emergency departments of public hospitals over the last three years are:

Year

1992/93

1993/94

No. of Cases

276,000

308,100

348,800

1994/95

There are no separate statistics maintained for patients suffering specifically from blood loss.
