Mr Chau Tak-hay. JP
Mr Chau has been the Secretary for Trade and Industry in the Hong Kong Government service since 1991. He joined the Government service in 1967: he has held a number of important senior appointments and has had a long association with international trade affairs.
Professor the Honourable Edward Chen Kwan-yiu, JP
Professor Chen is Director of Asian Studies at the University of Hong Kong and has also rendered a wide range of public and community services. He was a member of the Legislative Council before being appointed to the Executive Council in 1992, and he has been Chairman of the Consumer Council since 1991.
Professor Cheng Yiu-chung
Professor Cheng is Vice-chancellor of the City University of Hong Kong, formerly the City Polytechnic, and his period in office has seen the Polytechnic Student population expand from 6,000 to over 14,000. He has carried out pioneering research in the technology of semiconductor devices and has also been involved in community work.
