Two special holiday deliveries were scheduled to ease the delivery load, one on Sunday, December 18 and another on Tuesday, December 27.
"Despite the dramatic increase in traffic this year, the Post Office has been able to keep pace with its inflow of work and maintain normal delivery standard.
"Though the latest date for posting of local Christmas mail was set on December 19, many of the items posted as late as December 22 could still be delivered before Christmas," he said.

Police and fire stations project at new airport
The Architectural Services Department is inviting approved contractors to participate in a prequalification exercise for the construction of a police station and a fire station with a total gross floor area of 13,750 square metres in the new airport at Chek Lap Kok.
Scheduled to start in August next year for completion in 19 months, the project will include foundations, superstructure, fittings, finishes, services, drainage, ancillary buildings and external works.
Only contractors on the Approved Contractors for Public Works List 1 in Group C for Building Works or on the List II for Building Works can apply for prequalification.
