MEANWHILE, AS A RESULT OF THE COLLISON INVOLVING A FERRY "MAN LOY" AND A PLEASURE CRAFT "LONG BOAT" IN VICTORIA HARBOUR ON FEBRUARY 18, 1991, A WORKING GROUP KNOWN AS THE MARINE CONTROL WORKING GROUP WAS SET UP то LOOK INTO THE FEASIBILITY OF INTRODUCING MEASURES FOR THE CONTROL OF VESSELS DURING FUTURE FIREWORKS DISPLAYS AND ANY OTHER OCCASIONS WHEN THERE IS A CONCENTRATION OF PLEASURE VESSELS IN THE HARBOUR.

A NUMBER OF RECOMMENDATIONS WERE MADE BY THE WORKING GROUP IN EARLY DECEMBER LAST YEAR FOR MARINE TRAFFIC CONTROL BEFORE, DURING AND AFTER FUTURE FIREWORKS DISPLAYS WHICH HAD BEEN ACCEPTED BY THE DIRECTOR OF MARINE, MR TONY MILLER.

3. CONTINUING TO STUDY THE POLICE'S REPORT ON THE INCIDENT ON

NEW YEAR'S EVE; AND

4. MAKING PRELIMINARY ARRANGEMENTS FOR FURTHER PUBLIC HEARING.
