THE TOWN PLANNING BOARD TODAY (FRIDAY) ANNOUNCED THE OF A NEW DRAFT SOUTHWEST KOWLOON OUTLINE ZONING PLAN (OZP) AMENDMENTS TO FOUR DRAFT PLANS FOR TSIM SHA TSUI, YAU MA TEI, AND CHEUNG SHA WAN.

THE DRAFT SOUTHWEST KOWLOON OZI HAS BEEN PREPARED TO ILLUSTRATE THE

BROAD PRINCIPLES IN DEVELOPING THE RECLAMATION AREA IN SOUTHWEST KOWLOON NOT YET COVERED BY THE EXISTING OZPS.

THE PLANNING SCHEME AREA COVERS A TOTAL LAND ARKA OF 323.2 HECTARES AND 70.7 HECTARES OF TYPHOON SHELTER.

IT IS BOUNDED IN THE NORTH AND EAST BY TSIM SHA TSUI, YAU MA TEI, MONG KOK AND SHAM SHUT PO DISTRICTS, FOLLOWING BROADLY THE EXISTING WATERFRONT AND EXTENDING INLAND TO CHEUNG SHA WAN TO INCLUDE THE AREA SOUTH OF TUNG CHAU STREET.

THE WESTERN AND SOUTHERN BOUNDARIES FOLLOW THE PROPOSED RECLANATION LINIT TO INCLUDE THE NEW TYPHOON SHELTER. THE WESTERN EXTREMITY OF THE BOUNDARY RUNS PARALLEL TO THE ROAD EXTENDING SOUTH OF THE BUTTERFLY VALLEY ROAD.
