LOOKING AHEAD TO 1992 AND 1993, SUPPLY IS FORECAST ΤΟ RISE SUBSTANTIALLY, TO 363,000 SQUARE METRES IN 1992, OF WHICH 161,000 SQUARE METRES IS EXPECTED IN KWUN TONG, AND TO 378,000 SQUARE METRES IN 1993, WHEN WAN CHAI, WITH 57,000 SQUARE METRES, WILL PREDOMINATE.

FLATTED FACTORY SPACE COMPLETED IN 1991 AMOUNTED ΤΟ SQUARE METRES, 11 PER CENT LESS THAN THAT COMPLETED IN 1990. 54 PER CENT WAS IN THE NEW TERRITORIES, SOME 150,000 SQUARE METRES BEING IN TSUEN WAN AND TUEN MUN. ELSEWHERE, 60,000 SQUARE METRES WAS IN SHAU KEI WAN. TAKE-UP WAS DOWN BY AROUND 31 PER CENT, AND AS A RESULT, VACANCY ROSE TO 1,054,000 SQUARE METRES, OR 6.2 PER CENT OF STOCK.

FORECASTS INDICATE THAT SUPPLY WILL CONTINUE TO FALL IN 1992 AND 1993, TO 499,000 SQUARE METRES AND 452,000 SQUARE METRES RESPECTIVELY. OF THE TWO YEARS' SUPPLY, TSUEN WAN IS EXPECTED ΤΟ ACCOUNT FOR ALMOST 38 PER CENT.
