2. As from 1991, the above statistics are published by major industry groups based on the Hong Kong Standard Industrial Classification (HSIC). In order to compare the 1991 figures with the 1990 ones, the value changes and percentage changes between the third quarter of 1991 and the third quarter of 1990 for the respective major industry groups are derived after to-grouping the values of export items in the third quarter of 1990 according to the HSIC. The HSIC-based statistics may not be stricdy comparable with the domestic expart statistics classified by industrial origan for earlier years due to the change in industrial classification.
