THAT
FURTHER INSPECTIONS IN JANUARY AND MAY THIS YEAR REVEALED NO REPAIRS HAD BBEN CARRIED OUT AND THE BUILDINGS HAD FURTHER DETERIORATED.
THE BUILDING AT NO. 11 WAS IN AN ADVANCED STAGE OF DILAPIDATION BECAUSE THE STRUCTURAL TIMBERS WERE BADLY DECAYED AND PARTIAL COLLAPSES IN THE COCKLOFT AND ROOF HAD ALREADY OCCURRED.
AREAS
THE COMMON STAIRCASE WITH NO. 13 WAS DEFECTIVE AND LARGE OF RENDERING HAD EITHER BECOME LOOSE OR DETACHED FROM THE MASONRY PARTY WALL COMMON WITH NO. 13.

FURTHERMORE, WITH THE EXPOSED MASONRY PARTY WALL SHOWING LOOSE, OPEN JOINTS AND CRACKS, THE RISK OF A FURTHER COLLAPSE OF THE BUILDING IS HIGH AND THEREFORE THE BUILDING AT NO. 11 SHOULD BE CLOSED AND DEMOLISHED AS BEING DANGEROUS.
THE BUILDING AT NO. 13 WAS IN A DILAPIDATED CONDITION. ITS TIMBER STAIRCASE AND PARTY WALL COMMON WITH NO. 11 WERE ALSO SHOWING DETERIORATION, AND THERE WERE LOOSE RENDERING AND DEFECTS IN THE MASONRY WALL TO THE REAR PORTION.
AS THE BUILDING WAS DEPENDENT UPON NO. 11 FOR STRUCTURAL SUPPORT AND MEANS OF ESCAPE, IT WOULD NOT BE ABLE ΤΟ WITHSTAND THE DEMOLITION OF NO. 11. IT SHOULD THEREFORE BE CLOSED AND DEMOLISHED BEING LIABLE TO BECOME DANGEROUS.
AS
THE BUILDING AT NO. 9 WAS IN A POOR CONDITION WITH EXTENSION AREAS OF DEFECTIVE RENDERING, SPALLED WINDOW HEADS, BROKEN TIMBER WINDOWS, CRACKED BRICK CORBELS SUPPORTING TIMBER JOISTS AND EXTENSIVELY BROKEN AND LOOSE ROOF TILES.
FURTHERMORE, THE STRUCTURAL TIMBERS, PARTICULARLY THOSE FOR THE COCKLOFT OF FIRST FLOOR AND THE ROOF, WERE IN A DECAYING STATE AND THE ROOF OVER THE GROUND FLOOR YARD HAD PARTIALLY COLLAPSED.
THE PGBS SAID THE BUILDING AT NO. 9 WOULD BE UNABLE ΤΟ
WITHSTAND THE DEMOLITION OF NOS, 11 AND 13 AND SHOULD THEREFORE CLOSED AND DEMOLISHED AS BEING LIABLE TO BECOME DANGEROUS,

NOTICES OF INTENTION TO APPLY FOR CLOSURE ORDER FROM THE HONG KONG DISTRICT COURT ON AUGUST 20 WERE POSTED ON THE BUILDINGS TODAY.
