AT A MEETING OF THE LAND AND BUILDING ADVISORY COMMITTEE YESTERDAY (THURSDAY), MEMBERS WERE BRIEFED REVIEW OF THE TOWN PLANNING ORDINANCE AND NOTED DOCUMENT WOULD BE AVAILABLE IN JULY THIS YEAR.
THEY WERE ALSO INFORMED THAT THE TOWN PLANNING (AMENDMENT) BILL 1991 WAS GAZETTED ON APRIL 19, 1991, REGARDING THE SETTING UP OF AN APPEAL BOARD TO REPLACE THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL IN THE CONSIDERATION OF OBJECTIONS TO THE DECISIONS OF THE TOWN BOARD UNDER SECTION 17(7) OF THE TOWN PLANNING ORDINANCE.
THE COMMITTEE ALSO DISCUSSED THE RECENTLY INTRODUCED (ADMINISTRATION) (AMENDMENT) REGULATIONS 1991 TO CHARGE FEES PROCESSING OF BUILDING PLANS.

MEMBERS NOTED THAT SUCH LEASES WOULD NORMALLY BE EXTENDED UNLESS THE LAND WAS REQUIRED FOR A PUBLIC PURPOSE, SUCH AS OPEN SPACE OR ROAD WIDENING, WHICH WAS INDICATED ON THE RELEVANT STATUTORY TOWN PLAN.
