MR TSE SAID THIS AUDIT INSPECTION WAS ΤΟ ENSURE THAT THE SAFETY STANDARDS OF THE INTERNATIONAL MARITIME ORGANIZATION AND INTERNATIONAL LABOUR ORGANIZATION CONVENTIONS AND THE HONG KONG REGULATIONS HAD BEEN MET, AND THAT SHIPS OF HIGH SAFETY STANDARD WOULD BE REGISTERED.

"UNDER THE HONG KONG REGULATIONS, THE SAFETY EQUIPMENT OF EVERY HONG KONG SHIP IS REQUIRED TO BE SURVEYED BY THE GOVERNMENT SURVEYOR ONCE IN EVERY FIVE YEARS, THUS ENSURING THAT HIGH SAFETY STANDARDS ARE MAINTAINED,

HE SAID TO ESTABLISH A REAL LINK BETWEEN THE OWNER AND HONG KONG, IT WOULD BE NECESSARY FOR THE OWNER TO APPOINT A REPRESENTATIVE PERSON IN HONG KONG FOR EACH SHIP ON THE REGISTER.
