THE FINDINGS SHOWED THAT A QUARTER OF THESE
ESTABLISHMENTS HAD MOVED ONCE WITHIN THE PAST 10 YEARS AND ANOTHER 11 PER CENT HAD MOVED MORE THAN ONCE.

THE FINDINGS ALSO SHOWED THAT KOWLOON AND NEW KOWLOON WERE THE MOST PREFERRED AREAS FOR RELOCATION,
HALF OF THE ENTREPRENEURS POLLED OPTED FOR THE TWO AREAS WHILE ONE-FIFTH PREFERRED TSUEN WAN/KWAI TSING.
ABOUT 13 PER CENT OF THEM WOULD CONSIDER MOVING AWAY FROM THE OLDER INDUSTRIAL DISTRICTS IN THE METROPOLITAN AREA, FIVE PER CENT ANTICIPATED A MOVE ACROSS THE BORDER TO CHINA AND ONLY ONE PER CENT TO OTHER ASIAN COUNTRIES.
"IT IS EXPECTED THAT SUCH PERCEPTIONS WOULD CHANGE IN RESPONSE TO THE EXPANSION OF PORT FACILITIES AND THE DEVELOPMENT OF A NEW AIRPORT AT CHEK LAP KOK, THE SPOKESMAN SAID.

FUTURE DEMAND FOR INDUSTRIAL SPACE WAS MOSTLY FOR MULTI-STOREY INDUSTRIAL BUILDINGS.
THE GOVERNMENT WOULD CONSIDER THE SURVEY FINDINGS WHEN DRAWING UP THE FINAL PROPOSALS FOR THE METROPLAN.
